Geoff Mendenhall has spent most of his 55-year career developing broadcast equipment technology.

He has always had a passion for TV and radio broadcasting where his many contributions have made him one of the industry's best-known experts on FM transmission.

Geoff has authored over 50 technical papers on DTV and radio technology, including the chapter on FM and Digital Radio Broadcast Transmitters in the 8th, 9th and 10th editions of the NAB Engineering Handbook. His technical writing was recognized by the 2010 NAB Best Paper Award and the 2011 Matti S.Siukola memorial award for best IEEE Broadcast Symposium technical paper.

Geoff received the 1999 National Association of Broadcasters, Radio Engineering Achievement Award recognizing his many innovations and contributions to the broadcast industry and he was named an Engineering Fellow by Harris Corporation in 2008.

Geoff retired from Harris in early 2013 to form Mendenhall Engineering, LLC, an RF Engineering Consulting firm and he was a Technology Advisor to GatesAir (Formerly Harris Broadcast). He is currently associated with Cavell-Mertz, engaged with technical reviews of DTV stations that are being spectrum repacked.

He earned his electrical engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is the inventor of nine U.S. patents related to broadcast equipment.

Mr. Mendenhall is a registered Professional Engineer. He is a member of the Association of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers (AFCCE), a former member of the FCC Technological Advisory Council (FCC-TAC), a contributor to the National Radio Systems Committee (NRSC), a member of the Radio Club of America, and a Life Member of the IEEE.
